I would like to thank you for visiting my website to better understand what I believe.

I believe in Kentucky and its limitless potential. I believe that this potential can only be realized by unifying the commonwealth through rolling up our collective sleeves and putting the needs of the people before the egos of politicians. There is a need for real people, who have a history of service to challenge elected incumbents stuck in the partisan politics of the past. Too many of our incumbents, and even many of those seeking office are more concerned with ownership of an office than serving the people they represent. I believe we need servant leaders, but all too often those who are most gifted at serving are purposely intimidated by the thought of raising millions of dollars, or that you need to be a lawyer, doctor, baseball player or from an ivy League school to serve. I believe leadership is a sacred trust and responsibility that should be shared and not owned. Less than 9 years ago I was caring for 100 head of cattle on a 300-acre farm. However, those same values I learned working on a farm have served me well as I worked in the public and private sectors, run several businesses, and served on over 25 boards and commissions. I believe I can identify better than most with what the people in the commonwealth really want.

I believe that the people of Kentucky would love to see a campaign that is about providing service and addressing real issues facing everyday Kentuckians. Therefore, this is a campaign about service, not position. I believe that this campaign can start a movement that will empower the average citizen, regardless of party affiliation, to stand up and be heard, to serve, and even lead. I believe we can send a message to Frankfort, Washington and the Country, that we are fed up with party bickering and lack luster service at the expense of taxpayers. I believe Kentucky wants a U.S. Senator with a record, and a history, of service. I believe if you elect me in 2010 as your U.S. Senator, together we can create a record success and leave a history of service that we all can be proud of that is for the people and by the people.
